Geidam is a Local Government Area located in Yobe State, Nigeria. The administrative headquarters of the area are situated in the town of Geidam, which is positioned in the northwest portion of the region at coordinates 12°53′49″N 11°55′49″E.
The town has recently experienced significant conflict involving extremist groups. On April 24, 2021, terrorists from ISWAP seized Geidam, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and the displacement of over 6,000 residents. The Nigerian Armed Forces subsequently retook the town following an offensive against the terrorist group.
