Modakeke is a town located in the tropical forest region of South West Nigeria. It is situated near Ile-Ife in Osun State, approximately 45 kilometres from the state capital of Osogbo and 90 kilometres from Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The town has a population of about 120,000 people. Its inhabitants, known as the Modakekes or "Akoraye," are recognized for being prosperous farmers with a history of valor in war. A significant local celebration held annually in December is known as Akoraye Day.
