Yelwa is a town located in Kebbi State, Nigeria. It is situated along the Niger River and the A1 highway. The town serves as the capital and largest city of the Yauri Emirate.
The population of Yelwa was recorded at approximately 8,000 in 2010, with a majority of residents identifying as Hausa Muslims. It is frequently referred to as "Yelwa, Yauri" to distinguish it from another location of the same name in Plateau State.
