Haɗejiya is a Hausa town located in eastern Jigawa State in northern Nigeria. Situated between latitude 12.4506N and longitude 10.0404E, the town lies to the north of the Hadejia River and upstream from the Hadejia-Nguru wetlands. It shares boundaries with the Kiri Kasama Local Government to the east, Mallam Maɗori Local Government to the north, and Auyo Local Government to the west.
The local population is dominantly composed of Hausa, Fulani, and Kanuri people, along with other groups such as Tiv, Yoruba, Igbo, and Igala. The inhabitants are largely Muslim, though some follow indigenous belief systems. Economic activities in the area primarily center on crop farming and animal rearing, with additional participation in trading, fishing, services, and the civil service.
Hadejia is recognized as an internationally important ecological and sensitive zone. The Hadejia Local Government Area, which encompasses the town, consists of eleven political wards: Atafi, Dubantu, Gagulmari, Kasuwar Ƙofa, Kasuwar Kuda, Matsaro, Majema, Rumfa, Sabon Garu, Ƴankoli, and Yayari.
