Dutse is the capital city of Jigawa State, located in the northwestern part of Nigeria. It also serves as the capital of the Dutse Emirate.
The city is home to several educational and research institutions, including Federal University, Dutse, which was established in November 2011. Other notable facilities in the area include a state polytechnic and the Research Institute for Date Palm (Sub-Station). Additionally, the Jigawa State Polytechnic maintains its College of Business and Management Studies within the city.
