Warri is an oil hub located in South-South Nigeria. It serves as one of the primary centers for the country's petroleum industry and houses an annex of the Delta State Government House.
The city, along with Udu, Okpe, and Uvwie, constitutes the commercial capital of Delta State. As of 2006, its population was recorded at over 311,970 people. The area is the indigenous territory of the Itsekiri, Urhobo, and Ijaw peoples.
