Ogbomosho is a major city located in Oyo State in south-western Nigeria. Founded in the mid-17th century, it has grown into one of the most populated urban centers in the country and serves as the second largest city within its state.
The city's urban population was approximately 744,835 in 2024, making it the third most populated city in south-western Nigeria following Lagos and Ibadan. Administratively, Ogbomosho is divided into five local governments and 12 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
While the principal inhabitants of the city are the Yoruba people, the population is diverse, including residents from other regions of Nigeria as well as various West African countries.
