Igbeti-Okeogun is a town located in the northern part of Oyo State, Nigeria. Situated within the Olorunsogo Local Government area, it is positioned east of Ilorin, south of Ikoyi Ile, west of Igboho and Saki, and north of the old Oyo National Park. According to the 2006 census, the town had a population of approximately 81,000 residents.
The town is notably recognized as "Marble City" due to its significant marble deposits. It is surrounded by 16 hills, with Iya Mopo and Agbele Rock being the most frequently visited. Iya Mopo Hill is the highest peak in Igbeti, standing at 1,150 feet over a land mass of six kilometers, and historically served as a shelter against attacks. Agbele Rock is a naturally formed statue depicting a mother carrying a child and a load on her head, while Bata Erugba is known for its drum-like structure.
Igbeti serves as a destination for various cultural programs and tourist activities, including the Oyo State Celebration of World Tourism Day held annually on September 27. The town also experiences an influx of tourists during the Easter holidays for annual mountain hiking and picnics, particularly on Easter Mondays.
