Ido is a constructed language derived from a reformed version of Esperanto. It was designed with the goal of serving as an international auxiliary language for people of diverse linguistic backgrounds.
To function effectively as an international auxiliary language, Ido was specifically engineered to be regular in its grammar, orthography, and lexicography. It is recognized as the most successful of the many Esperanto derivatives, which are known as Esperantidoj.
