Lapai is a Local Government Area situated in Niger State, Nigeria. It is located in the western part of the state and adjoins the Federal Capital Territory.
The headquarters of the local government area are located in the town of Lapai. The town is positioned along the A124 highway at the geographic coordinates 9°03′00″N 6°34′00″E.
