Jebba is a Yoruba city located along the River Niger in present-day Nigeria. The town is geographically divided into North and South Jebba, with the southern portion situated in Kwara State as the headquarters of the Moro Local Government, while the northern portion lies within the Mokwa Local Government of Niger State. As of 2007, the city had an estimated population of 22,411.
The area is characterized by its Islamic culture and significant industrial infrastructure. It is home to one of Nigeria's three hydroelectric dams, which provides daily power to the entire country, as well as West Africa's largest paper mill. Additionally, the town features a monument dedicated to Mungo Park, commemorating a shipwreck that occurred there during his attempt to trace the source of the Niger River.
