Safana is a Local Government Area located in Katsina State, Nigeria. The administrative headquarters for the area is situated in the town of Safana, which is positioned in the eastern part of the region at coordinates 12°24′30″N 7°24′25″E.
The area covers a total landmass of 282 km2 and shares its western border with Zamfara State. According to the 2006 census, Safana had a recorded population of 183,779 residents.
