Katsina is a city located in Nigeria and serves as the capital of Katsina State. Situated in the northwestern geopolitical zone of the country, the state is bordered by Zamfara State to the west, Kano and Jigawa states to the east, and Kaduna State to the south. Its northern boundary forms part of the national border with Niger.
The state is divided into 34 local government areas and is commonly referred to by the nickname "Home of Hospitality."
