Okoroete is a town located in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Obolo Local Government Area (LGA), a designation established by the Federal Government of Nigeria on December 4, 1996, upon the creation of the LGA.
The town is traditionally governed by the Ede Royal dynasty, with the founder and natural ruler known as Okaan Ama. The current certified Village head or Okaan Ama is Munye Stephen Aqua Ede VII. He is supported in administrative duties by the Okoroete Village Council, which is headed by Pastor Emmanuel Adasigwungs II.
