Abat is a community located in the Shkodër County of northern Albania. It was formerly situated within the Shalë municipality before being incorporated into the larger municipality of Shkodër following the 2015 local government reform.
The settlement serves as a local administrative and residential area within the region. While it is part of the broader Shkodër district, its specific geographical identity is defined by its transition from Shalë to its current municipal status.
