Shagamu, also known as Ishagamu or Orisagamu-Ewa, is a conurbation located in southwestern Nigeria within Ogun State. Situated between the cities of Lagos and Ibadan, the area lies along the Ibu River and the Eruwuru Stream.
The city was founded in the mid-19th century by members of the Remo branch of the Yoruba people. It serves as the capital of the Remo Kingdom and consists of thirteen towns: Makun, Offin, Sonyindo, Epe, Ibido, Igbepa, Ado, Oko, Ipoji, Batoro, Ijoku, Ijagba, and Latawa.
The paramount ruler of the Remo Kingdom, known as the Akarigbo of Remo Land, maintains his palace in the town of Offin.
