Somolu is a local government area (LGA) situated in Lagos, Nigeria, within the Southwest region of the country. It is located north of Lagos city, with its administrative headquarters established on Durosimi Street. The area falls under the Lagos East Senatorial Zone and is represented by a lawmaker at the Federal House of Representatives.
The district is recognized for hosting the largest and most diverse printing industry in Lagos. Numerous offset and digital print shops are concentrated along Bajulaiye Road, Oguntolu, and surrounding areas. Despite its industrial significance, Somolu faces various socio-economic challenges, including high rent, poverty, poor sanitation, and a youth criminal subculture.
