Ikorodu is a city located in Lagos State, Nigeria. Situated to the north-east of Lagos along the Lagos Lagoon, it shares a boundary with Ogun State. The city serves as the second largest local government area within Lagos State.
With a population exceeding 1 million inhabitants, Ikorodu is currently the 12th largest city in Nigeria and maintains an annual growth rate of 5.26%. It is projected to reach a population of 1.7 million by the year 2035. The indigenous settlers of the area originally emigrated from Sagamu and parts of Ijebu in Ogun State.
