Alasia, also referred to as Alashiya in ancient texts, was a historical location mentioned in the Amarna letters and other records from several areas of the ancient Near East. It is identified with the archaeological site of Enkomi, located on the eastern coast of Cyprus near the modern village of Enkomi.
The site dates back to the 2nd millennium BC and is notable for its rich archaeological remains, including hundreds of excavated tombs. Significant finds from the location include exceptional metallurgic artifacts such as the Ingot God and the Horned God, as well as Cypro-Minoan Script inscriptions, including the longest known clay tablet.
