Zigula is a city located in Mozambique. While the name is associated with this urban location, it is also linked to the Zigua (or Zigula) people, who are a Bantu ethnic and linguistic group primarily inhabiting Tanzania.
The Zigua people reside in the southwestern Tanga Region and northern Pwani Region of Tanzania. They constitute the majority population in the Handeni District and northern Kilindi District, and they maintain a historically significant presence south of the Pangani River in the Pangani District. The group speaks the Zigula language, and their population was estimated to be 631,000 as of recent records.
