Inhambane is a city situated in southern Mozambique on Inhambane Bay. It is located approximately 470 km northeast of the national capital, Maputo, and serves as the administrative capital of the Inhambane Province.
The city's population has seen steady growth over recent decades. According to the 2017 census, Inhambane had a population of 79,724, an increase from the 54,157 residents recorded in the 1997 census.
