Papar

Malaysia

Papar is a city located in Malaysia.

The term "Papar" also refers to Irish and Scottish monks who lived as eremites in various locations, including the Hebrides, the Northern Isles, the Faroe Islands, and parts of Iceland. These monks resided in these areas from the late sixth to the late eighth century, prior to the expansion of Norse settlement across the North Atlantic.

The existence of the Papar is documented through early Icelandic sagas and recent archaeological findings. However, while their presence is noted in historical texts, there is currently no clear archaeological evidence to prove that the Papar lived in Iceland.
