Kuala Penyu Town serves as the capital of the Kuala Penyu District, located within the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. The town is accessible to travelers by both road and sea routes. It is situated approximately 145 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu via the Beaufort route, though it can be reached in 106 kilometres when traveling through Membakut or Pimping.
The region offers specific transportation options for visitors, including a ferry service to cross Setompok Bay when using the Membakut/Pimping route. As of a 2010 estimate, the town had a population of approximately 659 people. The ethnic Dusun Tatana sub-group constitutes the largest single ethnic group in the area.
