Petaling Jaya, often referred to by the colloquial shorthand "PJ," is a city located in the Petaling District within the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It covers an area of approximately 97.2 square kilometres (37.5 sq mi) and was officially granted city status on June 20, 2006.

The city was originally developed as a satellite township for Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. As a result of its development, Petaling Jaya is considered an integral part of the Greater Kuala Lumpur area.
