Batu Caves are a series of limestone caves located in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. Situated on a 325 m (1,066 ft) tall mogote, the site is positioned approximately 13 km (8.1 mi) north of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
The cave complex houses numerous Hindu temples, most notably a shrine dedicated to the deity Murugan. It serves as the primary focal point for Thaipusam, a significant Tamil Hindu festival in Malaysia. The site is also home to a 43 m (141 ft) tall statue of Murugan, which ranks among the tallest statues of the deity globally.
