Marudi is a town located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak within the Miri division. Situated on the banks of the Baram River, it lies approximately 100 kilometres upstream from the river mouth and serves as the administrative seat of the Marudi District.
Historically, Marudi functioned as the administrative centre for the northern region of Sarawak until the establishment of Miri in 1910. The town is recognized as the cultural heart of the Orang Ulu, who are the highland tribes of Sarawak. Additionally, Marudi serves as a transit gateway to Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Kelabit Highlands.
