Malacca, officially known as the Historic State of Malacca, is a state located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula in Malaysia. It faces the Strait of Malacca and shares borders with Negeri Sembilan to the north and west, as well as Johor to the south. The state also includes the exclave of Tanjung Tuan, which borders Negeri Sembilan to the north.
The capital of the state is Malacca City, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The region's geography is defined by its coastal position along one of the world's major maritime corridors.
