Kulim is a town and district located in the state of Kedah, Malaysia. It is situated in the southeastern region of the state, bordering the neighboring state of Penang.
The town of Kulim is positioned approximately 27 km (17 mi) east of George Town, which is the capital city of Penang. Due to its proximity to the capital, Kulim forms part of the George Town Conurbation, which serves as Malaysia's second-largest metropolitan area.
