Alor Setar is the state capital of Kedah, a state located in Malaysia. Formerly known as Alor Star from 2003 to 2009, it serves as one of the most significant urban centers on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The city ranks as the second-largest city in the state, following Sungai Petani. A notable landmark within the city is the Alor Setar Tower, which is recognized as the third-tallest tower in Malaysia.
