Northern Mariana Islands

Saipan is the largest island and the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands. Located in the western Pacific Ocean, it serves as an unincorporated territory of the United States. As of 2020 estimates by the United States Census Bureau, the island has a population of 43,385 people.

The inhabitants of Saipan have been United States citizens since the 1980s. The island is one of the primary homes for the indigenous Chamorro and Carolinian peoples of the Mariana Islands.
