Ulaangom is the capital city of Uvs Province in Mongolia. It is situated on the slopes of the Kharkhiraa mountain, positioned approximately 26 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of the shore of Uvs Lake.
The city is located roughly 120 kilometres (70 miles) south of the Russian border. It serves as a primary administrative and geographical hub within its province.
