Argalant is a sum located in Mongolia's Töv Province, situated approximately 82 kilometers west of the capital city, Ulaanbaatar. The region covers a total area of 1,210 square kilometres, with its land use divided between 940 square kilometres of pasture and 160 square kilometres of farmland.
The sum was established in 1977 during the first year of Mongolia's second Virgin Soils campaign. As of 2005, the area was home to 1,892 inhabitants living in 387 households.
