Baruun-Urt is a town located in eastern Mongolia and serves as the capital of Sükhbaatar Province. The town, along with its immediate vicinities, constitutes the sum (district) of Sükhbaatar Province.
The Baruun-Urt sum covers an area of 59 km² and had a population of 15,549 in 2008, resulting in a population density of 265 per km². Geographically, the town forms an enclave within the surrounding Sükhbaatar sum.
