Uliastai, also spelled Uliyasutai or Oulia-Sontai and sometimes referred to as Javkhlant, is a city located in the western region of Mongolia. It is situated approximately 1,115 kilometres (693 miles) from the national capital, Ulaanbaatar.
The city serves as the capital of Zavkhan Province. While it was previously ranked as the 10th most populous city in the country with a population of 24,276, recent estimates place the population at 16,240, making it currently the 16th most populous city in Mongolia.
