Aung San was a prominent Burmese politician, independence activist, and revolutionary who played a central role in Myanmar's struggle for independence from British rule. He is widely recognized as the founder of modern-day Myanmar and the Tatmadaw (the Myanmar military).
Due to his significant contributions to the nation's sovereignty, Aung San is honored with several titles, including "Father of the Nation," "Father of Independence," and "Father of the Tatmadaw." Although he was assassinated only six months before Myanmar achieved independence, he remains a foundational figure in the country's history.
