Pyu, also spelled Phyu or Phyuu, is a town located in the Taungoo District of the Bago Region in Myanmar. It serves as the administrative seat of Phyu Township and sits at an elevation of 156 feet above sea level. The town is geographically situated between the Sittaung River to the east and the Bago Yoma mountains to the west, with the Phyu Stream flowing through its center.
The area serves as a significant transportation hub, as it is intersected by several major transit routes. These include the old Yangon-Mandalay highway, the Yangon-Mandalay railway, and the new Yangon-Mandalay Expressway (AH-1), which lies approximately 3 miles west of the town. Additionally, the construction of the Phyu-Oakpyat-Mong-(Kyauk Gyi)-Htantabin-Taungoo road has contributed to the prosperity of the region.
