Yenangyaung

Yenangyaung is a city located in the Magway Region of central Myanmar. Situated on the Irrawaddy River, it lies approximately 363 miles from Yangon. The city served as the capital for both Minbu Division and Yenangyaung District until 1974.

As of September 2020, the population of Yenangyaung was 49,938, making it the fourth-largest city in the Magway Region following Pakokku, Magway, and Aunglan. The city is also noted as the location where General Aung San received his secondary education.
