Kyaukme

Myanmar

Kyaukme is a town located in the northern Shan State of Myanmar (Burma). It serves as a transit point situated on the Mandalay-Muse road, which is part of the Asian Highway route 14 (AH14). The town is positioned between Pyin Oo Lwin and Nawnghkio to the south and Hsipaw to the north.

The town is connected by rail via the Mandalay-Lashio railway line. It also maintains connections to Momeik (Mongmit) in the Shweli River valley and the ruby mines of Mogok. As of 2014, the population of Kyaukme was recorded at 39,930.
