Shwebo, also known by the Pali names Ratanāsiṅga or Ratanāsikhā, is a city located in the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. It is situated between the Irrawaddy and Mu rivers, approximately 110 kilometers northwest of Mandalay.
The city is historically significant as the origin of the Konbaung Dynasty, which became the dominant political force in Burma following the mid-18th century. Established by King Alaungpaya in 1752, Shwebo served as his capital until 1760. As of 2021, the city has a population of 88,914.
