Nyaung-U

Nyaung-U is the administrative town of Nyaung-U Township, located within the Nyaung-U District of the Mandalay Region in central Myanmar. The town is situated on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady River and serves as a significant geographical point in the region.

The area is notable for its proximity to old Bagan, a popular tourist destination located just 4 kilometers away. Several prominent religious and historical sites are situated within or near Nyaung-U, including the Shwezigon Pagoda, Htilominlo Pagoda, Gubyaukgyi Pagoda, Ahlodawpyae Pagoda, and Hgnet Pyit Taung Hill.
