Meiktila is a city located in central Burma within the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. It is situated on the banks of Meiktila Lake at the intersection of three major highways: the Bagan-Taunggyi, Yangon-Mandalay, and Meiktila-Myingyan routes.

The city serves as a significant strategic hub for the country's military and education sectors. It is home to the Myanmar Air Force's central command and the Meiktila Air Force Base. Additionally, it hosts the Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University, which is the nation's primary aerospace engineering institution. As of 2021, the city had a population of 177,442.
