Myawaddy is a town located in southeastern Myanmar within Kayin State. It is situated approximately 170 kilometres east of Mawlamyine and 426 kilometres northwest of Bangkok, Thailand.
The town serves as the primary trading point between Myanmar and Thailand. It is separated from the Thai border town of Mae Sot by the Moei River.
