Hpakant is a town situated in Hpakant Township within the Kachin State of Myanmar. Located in the northernmost part of the country, it sits on the Uyu River approximately 350 kilometres (220 mi) north of Mandalay.
The town is primarily known for its extensive jade mines. These mining operations are significant for producing gem-quality jadeite, making the area a major center for the gemstone trade.
