Hopin is a town located in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, in north-east Myanmar. It is situated along the main Mandalay – Myitkyina railway line, approximately 745 miles north of Yangon.
The town serves as a transit point on the road between Mohnyin and Mogaung, where the route to Ywathit and Indawgyi Lake branches off. It is located 27 miles by road from Indawgyi Lake and 60 miles by road from Sinbo, which sits on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady River.
