Pyapon

Pyapon is a town and the administrative seat of Pyapon District and Pyapon Township in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady Region. It is situated along the Pyapon River, which serves as a distributary of the Ayeyarwady River. The town is located approximately 15 kilometres inland from the Andaman Sea and about 75 miles south of Yangon.

The area functions as a primary center for collecting rice from the surrounding agricultural regions. Additionally, Pyapon is home to a diesel-run power plant that utilizes equipment provided by the German firm Siemens. As of 2023, the town had a population of 47,082.
