Myanaung is a town situated in the northern Ayeyarwady Region of southwest Myanmar. It serves as the capital of Myanaung District and functions as the administrative seat for Myanaung Township.
The town is positioned along the western bank of the Irrawaddy River, where it acts as a railway and waterway stop connecting Lower Myanmar and Kyangin. The urban area is divided into six wards, numbered one through six from north to south. A Light Infantry Battalion 51 is stationed just outside Ward 6, adjacent to the town's Industrial Zone.
