Kati is an urban commune and the largest town located in the Koulikoro Region of Mali. It is situated approximately 15 km northwest of Bamako, which serves as the capital city of Mali.
The town is positioned along the Dakar-Niger Railway. According to the 2009 census, the commune had a population of 114,983 residents.
