Douentza is a town and urban commune located in the Mopti Region of central Mali. It serves as the administrative center for the Douentza Cercle.
The town is situated approximately 145 km east-northeast of Mopti. It is positioned along the RN16, which is a paved road connecting the cities of Mopti and Gao.
