Djenné is a town and urban commune located in the Inland Niger Delta region of central Mali. It serves as the administrative center for the Djenné Cercle, which is one of the eight subdivisions within the Mopti Region.
The commune encompasses ten surrounding villages and recorded a population of 32,944 in 2009.
