Bankass is a town and rural commune situated in the Mopti Region of Mali. It serves as the administrative seat of the Bankass Cercle, which is one of the eight subdivisions within the region.
The commune covers an area of approximately 362 square kilometers and encompasses the town along with 25 surrounding villages. According to the 2009 census, the population of the commune was 30,159.
